I'm experiencing a sublime life in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

Update:

With great regret I have cancelled my plan to attend the Robbinsdale Class of 1970 Reunion. I can’t fit my head around traveling and meeting people face-to-face when here in Oregon our hospitals are filled beyond capacity with Covid-19 patients.

I wish I could see you again.

Here is a shout-out to those with whom I started at Adair Elementary (later named Fair Elementary after our dear principal, Miss Fair). In those days, we managed bus stop crossings together. We could eat ice cream on Friday afternoons for our hard work.

My elementary and secondary years were times of innocence. Perhaps for you, too life became more complicated after that. I made an attempt to finish an Electrical Engineering curriculum, but wasn’t quite ready for that. My girlfriend at the time ran off to France, and I followed her.

Loves lost, loves gained.

After I earned a doctorate in behavioral psychology, I held a position as a Special Education Director in the public schools in Wyoming. About 20 years ago I moved from the mountain west to live in the Portland, Oregon area (Lake Oswego). Here, I served as a school psychologist.

But now I’m retired from my roles in public education. I am married and have two beautiful stepdaughters. My wife and I have piloted our wooden Grand Banks trawler north, to the Canadian waters behind Vancouver Island, and we have returned, heading out the Juan deFuca Strait, down the Washington Coast, and up the Columbia River to return to Portland, twice.

I have been appointed to be the Emergency Coordinator of the Amateur Radio Emergency Service in our fine city. This is, after all earthquake country.

I wish the best for all of my Robbinsdale H.S. classmates!
